Hello All,

Recently installed the OEM Ford fog lights on my '01 Ranger. Decided to go with no switch and opted to have them come on when the parking lights were active which would support both low and high beam mode from the headlights.

Picked up an EDGE valence, trimmed the flare portion to match the existing bumber (next time with $100 more, I would have changed the upper bumper to match the flare - cleaner look.) Installed LF and RF lights scavenged from the local JY, ran wiring toward the fuse box to an external 85/86/87/30 relay.

Works like a charm and if I want to change to a switch, would not take much work - just change the input to the relay.

I want foglights that fit in BryFin83's front bumper. That's the front bumper that I have on my 2003.

Jp7, do you have pigtails for them on your truck?

I doubt it, I have the "work truck" edition of the 2003. I can wire anything in though.

My 03 XL had them it was also a fleet truck

It does not even have the cutout. It's just a recession where the foglight would go. This is not the round opening. I have not looked, but I seriously doubt there is a harness for it. My truck also does not have the switch. I was going to wire everything in by hand as it was. I just want something that will fit in those stock locations nicely. I plan on going with 3000K HID.

This is what my 03 looked like same kinda bumper. Fog light connection was up behind the bumper taped into the other wiring harness. All I had to do was add the radio bezel with switch. Relay and wiring from switch to dist box under hood.

I will not get the fancy bezel and switch. More than likely I will use a digikey switch

i have got a 01 xlt 2wd same bumper it does have the connections behind the bumper....i did notice a harness behind my radio is that for the fog lights? if so where can i find the fog lights that do fit this bumper because i can not find them anywhere...second will i have to wire everything my self or is there another way or a switch?

So the connector is actually taped up inside of the harness? I looked for mine awhile ago, and thought I didn't have them, but I didn't unwrap the harness at all. I do have the plug behind the radio which I assume is for the fog switch.
