Default 02 fuse blown after remote start install

I took my 02 xlt into a reputable shop (or so I thought) to get a remote start installed on it...Go to pick it up and the blower motor doesn't work and the passenger air bag light is on...I take it back and the guy tells me there must be a loose wire on the steering column that keeps blowing the fuse...He replaces the fuse and all is well untill I use the remote start again and the fuse blows again right when turn the ignition on...Now I've NEVER had this problem before and there actually is no overdrive wire connected because I removed it a while ago b/c it was shorted....My question is WTF did this guy do to my truck and is it permanent???....I'm going there first thing in the morning and having them take the system out and refund my money...I have better things to do with my free time than sit at a shop all f'ng day while somebody hacks my truck up..any info is greatly appreciated

What you're doing is my suggestion. Without knowing what the idiot did, it is hard to diagnose remotely.

update:....They couldn't figure the problem out so now it's a dealership...Get a call from them today saying the wires on the shift lever are worn through causing the fuse to blow..I try explaining to the advisor that there ARE NO wires for the overdrive button b/c I took it out like 4 months ago and disconnected it from the wire connector by the kick panel...They seem to think that replacing the shift lever is going to fix the problem....Are there any more wires affected by the shift lever that I'm unaware of?

O ya and the part won't be in untill next tuesday

Nope. But I hope the numbnuts who broke it putting in the remote starter is paying for all this.
