Default Mazda B2500 No Blower, No Blinkers, ABS light, Airbag Light on Cold Startup

Hey all - I've got a 2000 Mazda B2500. When it gets cold here (lol, 65 degrees is cold in south Texas), I've got a weird electrical problem. Normally, when I start the truck, the ABS and Airbag lights come on for a short time, then go off. When the temperature drops, the lights don't go off (so I'm assuming these systems are not powered up), my turn signals don't work, and my a/c blower motor doesn't work. I've searched my repair manual (but I can't find any common ground or relay or fuse in my non-specific Haynes repair manual)... so the last resort is to beg for help! After the truck warms up, everything works fine. Any suggestions I can look for? Is there some module or relay that powers up these systems?

Thanks in advance!

check the trucks owners manual, should be listed for the fuses function and number

I've been having the same exact problem in my 1990 2.3L ranger. It's very frustrating. It only seems to manifest itself on cool (50F or so) days when the air is thick with moisture, but not in the rain. I checked all the fuses under the dash, they look clean. I replaced the fuses in the power distribution box up under the hood as well.

Mechanic diagnosed the problem as a bad alternator and replaced it. I didn't have problems for a few weeks then it just came out of nowhere on a cold start. Drove it up to his shop to reproduce the problem for him, and it started up just fine. It has been about a week and it has not reproduced the problem yet.

Anyway, I just replaced the ignition switch, and there was a little bit of gunk building up on some of the connectors. Other than that switch, I couldn't see any commonalities between the ABS, blower motor and turn signals based on the wiring diagrams in the manual.

Any advice would be appreciated!

While I am sorry to resurrect such an old thread again, I believe I have found the problem in my truck that was exhibiting these symptoms!

With some help, the common denominator was found to be the ignition switch. I took apart my steering column and removed my old switch, and replaced it with a new one (easy job, only took 15 mins or so!). The old one had some smegma in the electrical contacts, and may have been a little out of adjustment, as the problem only seemed to occur when using my spare set of keys.

Hope that helps!
