Rear brake lights and turn signals problem.
2 week old 2011 Ranger XLT, 2.3L DOHC 4 cylinder, manual trans, Black, Stock
Here's my question:
The truck's rear brake lights don't work (cab brake light does), and the turn signals are screwy. When I turn the switch to signal RIGHT and NOT into the lock position, it gives me that quick flashing that acts as if one of the bulbs is out. Now, if I put it into the lock position it maintains the same quick flashing. For the LEFT, when I push it to signal left (not locking it to signal) it won't even work. But if I put it into the lock position, then it will work, but gives quick flashes like that is out too.
The brake lights in the rear light housings will not work whatsoever. When I put on the actual night lights the bulbs will turn on though, but just for night driving lights. The turn signals and brake lights will still not work. So I'm very confused.
I already took it to the authorized ford shop off post (I'm in Baumholder, Germany BTW stationed with the U.S. Army) and they said it was a switch problem, which they have already ordered and I am expecting very soon.
Can anyone shed some light on this problem?
