Default Something's still not right

Today I replaced the electrical part of my ignition switch hopeing that it would resolve the issue I've been having with the truck continuing to run for 10 seconds or so after the key switch is turned off. It did absolutely no good. It's still doing the same thing as before. So I thought I'd try just turning the key on to the run position to get all the dash lights to come on then turn the key off and watch. What I noticed was that the dash lights stayed on for the 10 seconds or so and faded slowly out during that time. So this tells me there is something keeping the truck powered momentarily after the key is turned off. Here's where I need lots of help anyone have any idea what would be causing this or what else I need to try to get more details out here so that I can get this issue resolved?

uhhhhhhhhh. Well this is a new one. What you're describing sounds like a capacitor draining down backfeeding the ignition side of the switch. You don't by chance have a massive capacitor installed somewhere, do you??? I can't think of anything stock-but-broken that could allow such a thing to happen.

Nope I don't. To my knowledge the electricals of the truck are all stock. I was thinking maybe some kind of a connector was sticking and releasing slowly or something. It's really got me stumped.

Well the only thing that would do that is the ignition switch that you just replaced. And it would be on or off. Not a slow drain. Its one thing to keep some instrument lights on. But to keep the engine running is a lot of power between the ignition and fuel pumps. Do you have anything else aftermarket electrical in this thing, or have you modified, moved, changed, or otherwise touched anything?

Not to my knowledge. The only thing that's not stock is the lift related items. I haven't added/modified anything yet.

Where should I start looking? I'm really lost on this one, what would be the order of power supply throughout the ignition/electrical system. Maybe something in there has fried or something.....just need a little direction on which way to start looking.
