Default Heater Blower issues

Hello, I am new to this forum and I hope I can find the right information to address this.

My 1999 Ranger 4X4 Supercab XLT is suffering with an intermittent blower motor... It works when it feels like it. I have currently done the following based on suggestions from "people who knew"...
R+R Resistor = $25.00
R+R Blower motor = 48.00
Removed and examined blower speed selector switch, fuse... all okay. All plugs/connections seem to be good.

Still, I turn on the switch and the doggone thing works when it wants to and not when it does not feel so inclined...
What else do I need to check next.

Thank you for any assistance,
