Default Block Heater

Hi, first post, I have a new 2011 Ranger Sport 4x4 4.0L which was assembled at the Minnesota Facility. Can't find the plug for a block heater ( not sure if I have one installed). Any help? See some kind of insulated wrap around battery..is this some type of battery warmer in place of a block heater? Not a lot of free space under the hood, not convinced that if I keep looking I might find plug for block heater.

i doubt that there is a block heater installed.... i belive they are a special order item. and the wrap around the battery is just insulation to try to keep the battery warm during winter and kinda cool in the summer....

It is standard equipment, not an option, in the far north and Canada. It should have one. The cord is probably just stuck hidden behind something.

If for some reason it doesn't have one, their not difficult to install. I'll be putting one in later this week...this is for a 4.0L OHV but you get the idea

My block heater plug is in the front bumper valance behind the licence plate.

As fireranger said, it's standard equipment for all rangers made for canada.

The battery blanket has a wire - didnt follow it all the way down but I suspect that it connects to the block heater cord also.

If the truck has one look for the plug at the front of the truck

They generally stick the plug on the passenger side of the truck. You should be able to see the freeze plugs and heater through the passenger wheel well

Thanks for your replies. I went out and gave one last search....and did find the plug tucked behind the license plate valence.... happy although a bit embarrassed that it took that long to find it. Ready for cold Canadian winters.
Looking at installing a Steelcraft stainless steel bullbar to protect the front bumper etc....lot of plastic down there along the bottom...a bit worried that chunks of ice etc. will damage things along the front. Any comments on this add on ?
Thanks in advance,

Johnny Ranger
