I need a new battery

Wondering if anyone has anything bad to say about the O'Reilly brand Super Start battery.

no, i work for oreilly. i would suggest the super start extreme. its made better and has a better warranty

If its of the same quality as their electrical parts, DEFINITELY NO!

I've bought starters, distributors, & alternators from them with lifetime warranties.........went through 4 starters, 3 distributors, & 3 alternator. The store Mgr. is a friend of mine, he finally said, "Tim, I'm just gonna give ya your money back, its not my fault or your fault, & I'd rather just call it quits." I told him I bought the ones with lifetime warranties, but didn't want to be replacin them for a lifetime!

I still buy stuff there, but NOTHIN ELECTRICAL!

Their electrical parts are in the same league as Auto Bone IMO!

this is true. i never buy the house brand stuff, all name brand and never rebuilt or reman if i can help it. but so far we've had good luck from super start extreme batteries.

when i needed a battery for my truck i went and bought a motorcraft...i figured if the original one lasted 7 years then ill get another one...hell the one in my grandpas ranger lasted 10 years

Super start is considered a premium battery because they are not remanned they are new. Also O'reilly's sells motorcraft batteries a whole lot cheaper than Ford dealers.

^^^ also true. i think we have a decent warranty on them too. speaking of i found out the other day they cut the warranty on the power sports batteries to a year.

Thats one of our biggest complaints with Motorcraft, O'Reillys & Wal-Mart can sell Motorcraft products CHEAPER than we can buy them.

Optima Dry cells in both my bikes, Red top in the 4.0.(frame death) and had a yellow in the 2.3 steppie

O'reillys does not warranty the battery if you sell the car. the warranty is only good to the first owner. be sure to keep your receipt and remember the original phone number you put the warranty under to claim on the warranty, which i'm sure you will. they put a long 84 month warranty on the battery because they know most people wont keep the car that long. they also will want you to leave the batter overnight to charge it, then test it. its a long drawn out process. my opinion is their warranty stinks! buy one from walmart, they take anything back without a hassle. i found an old battery that was still within the 3 year exchange time, took it back and they gave me a brand new 100 dollar battery. no questions asked!
