I'm currently.. ehemm.. re-appropriating Microsoft Visio. I will draw a schematic for this when re-appropriation is complete.

So easy, diode isolate them. Actually I would do this with a transistor circuit because it's more elegant but that's just me..

I would like to get the third brake light all red with three bulbs and have the outside be like taillights but also be turn signals.

Can this be done and if so what would the wiring look like?

I think I would need a two filament bulb and socket with two hot leads to wire to the two circuits.

You can do an all red brake light with cargo lights. This is what I have

+1 on the 2 diode method... I'd recommend using 3a to 5a diodes, especially if you plan on using incandescent bulbs though. The larger 906-ish bulbs can draw almost 1a each & a 1a diode might not work as well as a higher amperage diode would.

If you're going to use plug-in led bulbs, you should be ok using a 1a diode like a 1n4001, etc. as long as it's voltage rating is 25v or more.

Not sure what you have is what I want. I want tail lights with turn signals. I am not interested in cargo lights, they don't do anything for me at all.

I know that I'm saying you can put a 3 bulb harness in a solid red brake light

Two filament bulbs needed then just run the wiring from the blinkers and the taillights

You would also need a socket that has three leads, two for the two hot circuits and and for the ground. Not sure if there is one that would fit and have the needed clearance with the roof structure.

If you are still are thinking of turning on the bed lights with the dome lights, might want to consider a cut out relay so that the bed lights only come on when your in park, otherwise if your driving and the white bed lights illuminated when you turn on the dome while driving, you could freak out the driver behind you!!!!

I myself, would love to have my third brake light turned into a sequencing "chasers" turn directional/ brake light...like I have on my Mustang....here what my friend Keith did to his 3rd brakelight....another idea!!!!
