Default Bank one lean 97 ranger

I have a code sayin my truck is running too lean and I was wondering if a crack in the filler line to the fuel tank would cause that? Any suggestions...

i dont think so

not sure on the 4 cylinders but bank one is usually the drivers side and lean means there is to much oxygen so more than likely you have a O2 sensor bad or a vacuum leak since it is only on one side

Thanks for the advice. Over the weekend I cleaned my Maf sensor with some CRC Maf cleaner then I also cleaned up the bank 1 sensor and also checked for vacuum leaks. I found a cack in the elbow of the air intake hose so I got that sealed up where no air could leak through. But after 20 miles my engine light come back on.... Any other suggestions?

On Fords bank 1 is passenger side.
vacuum leaks, bad maf, low fuel pressure can cause a p0171. Buy a code reader for $20. Did you clear the codes. If you have one crack you might gave another. A crack in the air intake will cause the p0171

Maybe you were thinking of GM vehicles. Bank 1 on them is drivers. Bank 1 and #1 cylinder go together. I4 and I6 only have bank 1.

Bank 1 is always where cylinder 1 is. On a 4 cylinder it's the only bank.
Time to buy some carb cleaner and start spraying away
