Default # 3 fuse blown

96 ranger XLT with original camper shell (Raven) from Ford & previous owner. Dash lights out, left rear brake light out, 3rd brake light out on camper shell (for a long time), headlight on chime not working, license plate lights not working. I checked fuses 3 weeks ago. All was fine. Nothing blown. Then all of a sudden one evening, the dash lights didn't come on. Checked fuses again. all was fine. I did replace the dash lights. They were original and dark. Then I checked fuses again and fuse # 3 did blow at some time in the last 3 weeks. Don't know why. I have read all I can in the Ford Haynes manual. Not as helpful as I need. I would like to track down the problem and fix it so I have all the lights working properly. I have 136,000 miles approximately. I suspect the wiring to the camper shell splices are the culprit but not sure. I'll take all the help I can get. So, Thanks in advance.

If the camper shell wiring is not it then something is contacting metal and shorting out

Can you undo the wiring from camper and see what happens with it out of the picture
