Air bag light means there's an error with that system... not sure what you can do about it besides take it to Ford for them to tell you where the problem is...

Dome like might be your dimmer switch rolled all the way up. Look next to your headlight switch and there should be a wheel. If you push it all the way up you will feel it "click" before it stops turning, roll it below the click and make sure all doors are closed properly and that should fix it.

Turn the key on and immediately count the 2-digit "light flash code" for the restraints system and post it here.

Lubing the door latches will often get the dome light working correctly again.

I believe he's saying that when you turn on the ignition that the airbag light will flash in a certain sequence, depending on the problem. He's asking you what that sequence is. I know you said the light stays on, but does it blink when you first turn on the ignition? If so, count the pattern.

For the dome light problem, spray WD40 in the latch as per the red straw in the picture. You may have to decrease the angle to spray more directly into the latch mechanism, open and close the door a couple times, the light should go out. NOTE: Oil will come out the vent further down the door, wipe it off to keep people from getting it on their clothes.

No advice for the air bag problem, I have spent $150 to get mine to stop blinking, been to the dealer three times, had the air bag computer replaced twice and who knows what else they have done, it goes back in again next week. maybe this time they will get it right.

For 2001~2003 Rangers, that is the code for incorrect resistance on the seatbelt pretensioner circuit (code 46 driver side, code 47 passenger side). It is a common problem and is usually caused by a poor connection under the seat. Turn off the ignition, disconnect the negative battery cable, open the connector under the seat, clean the pins and reassemble. Applying dielectric grease to the pins should make the repair last longer. In rare cases, the connector might need to be replaced.

It is a good idea to avoid storing things under the seats because contact with the connectors can sometimes trigger the problem.

BTW, does anybody know the correct resistance value, if needed to check with an ohmmeter to determine if the seat circuit is fine?
