Default Auxilliary Fuse Box

I added this Hella 6-circuit auxilliary fuse box to the Heap today. I was sick of the 5 in-line fuse holders that I had in there for the various things that I've added over the years: 2 sets of driving lights, dual horns, back-up lights, and the CouterAct unit. They were wired neatly, but nothing was really marked well or easily accessable if I had an issue; plus I'm a bit a of a freak when it comes to my underhood appearance. I cut all of the fuse holders out and ran new wires from the ralays to the fuse box, then loomed and color-coded each circuit with colored zip-ties. I also ran new feed lines back to the positive battery terminal and loomed those. I fabbed-up a mounting plate out of some flat stock, and mouted the fuse box to the ABS module with some HD plastic velcro. It's defintely a neater and better looking install, plus I have one extra circuit if needed.

Thanks Tom-
Fuse Box was $10.99 from Summit-they also have 8 & 10 circuit ones. Another $10 or so for wire, connectors, wire loom, fuses, and heat shrink, but most of the stuff I had in my electrical tool box.

I got really lucky with the size--it fits perfectly between those two brake lines, and it's still easy to get the clear cover off to get at the fuses.

I like this. I will be running some power to the back of my plow truck. (ext cab or in the tool box) And I want to run a seperate fuse block. I will look into this. Great job.

Thanks-I'm the same way about wiring-it it looks shoddy, it probably was door poorly. Shoddy wiring = poor reliabilty and greater chance for something very bad to happen. Plus it just looks bad. Any wiring project that I do, I shoot for OEM appearance and quality--heat shrink and dielectric grease at all connectors, wire loom, neatly routed, zip-tied to factory harnesses. Granted, the colored zip-ties cretainly don't look factory, but they'll help alot if I ever have to chase a gremlin down-each circuit is color coded.
