Default Putting in head unit, need help.

I am trying to put in a head unit in my 1997 ranger. It didnt come with a stereo, but has the wiring.

I realize its hard to help without seeing, but do you know any tricks/tips to make it work. I connected black to black, red to red, etc. And the unit has power, but no sound. Am I stupid or don't you just connect the color to the matching color?. There are a few stray ones that don't have a match, but none that seem important.

Any help would be much appreciated especially if you have gone through this.

Check to see the speakers are all hooked correctly. Also check at the speaker location that there are speakers there and the wires are there.

Haha before I saw any of these responses I realized there were no speakers!!! So now the question is how do I get the door panel off to put in speakers and is there going to be any wiring so even plug them into??

I tried getting the panel off, but didn't want to apply a ton of pressure. Had no luck.

Right under the grab handle on the door, there are 2 screws, put that panned off. There is another screw under that panel, and a 4th screw in the the bottom corner of the door where the carpet it. After all the screws are out just lift up on the panel and it should pop off

There are only 2 screws total. One on the bottom left and the other under the handle in that little indent thingy where you can put change. I searched a little and it looks like I have to take off the roller since they are manual windows.

Ah, yeah I don't know then. Look in your owners manual or online
