Kick the rear driver tire as hard as you can barefooted. Hop around to the passenger door and pound the 5th of Johnny Walker Red Label under the seat. Wait until you feel as if your bladder is about to explode and piss into your fuel tank. Run the vehicle at idle with plenty of ventilation (incase you pass out from the booze) for approximately 20 minutes.

Repeat until fixed....

Makes sense now. Still a hack job though.

Here's the deal. Under normal operation, the lock/unlock buttons talk to the GEM and the GEM talks to the door locks. After the truck is shut off for 45 minutes, the GEM module goes to sleep to save battery power. Most GEM related functions obviously won't work. That is why you can't reach in the window and hit the unlock button when the truck has been parked for more than 45 minutes.

So, you have an aftermarket alarm or remote start or something in there. For that thing's built-in remote lock/unlock to work, you have to tie it directly into the door locks. The old way was to just tie it into the lock/unlock button. But since the button circuits don't work after 45 minutes when the GEM shuts down, you can't do that. So the instructions have you tap the aftermarket alarm's unlock trigger directly to the door lock/unlock wires. The diodes keep the left and right doors isolated from eachother and allow the one unlock trigger from the alarm to actuate both of them.
