Default Adding DRL to my 2000 Ranger

Hi, I have ordered from ebay a GM#12370445 Daytime Running Lights Module. The hookup sounds about the same as the Ford module. What I need to know is where is the easiest place to tie in the wire for the low beams? I think the 2000 has a separate fuse for left and right low beams (not shown on the 90 & later wiring diagram I have. This diagram shows them both going through a connector 105 as a single wire and then splitting at S106 (splice?) I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me/show me where, preferably under the hood, I can tie in. Prefer to use the low beams as not sure if this module is a reduced intensity or not. Secondly, where would it be easiest to tie into the parking light circuit? Being 67 and not as agile as I used to be, easy would be helpfull. Thanks all. Cliff

Wouldn't it have been cheaper to just turn your headlights on when you go to drive?

I started doing it and it became a habit.

Thanks for the suggestion, but my insurance agen suggested this as it will lower my payments, and the module was only a total of $15 incl shipping.

Thumbs up Re: Adding DRL to my 2000 Ranger

Although no one seems interested in add DRL anymore here is the ebay url for the Delco module:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...OU%3AUS%3A1123

It is a metal cased potted module probably the same as the Ford one. I paid $9.99 + $5 for priority mail and it came today. Brand new as listed, he has one left. After all the posts about finding the ranger DRL connector and dummy module through the wheel well, behind the headlight, etc, I found that just looking up from underneath the left front corner there it is, a square gray connector with 5 wires plugged into an empty box. Plenty of room to splice te wires from underneath for the young folks, I finally got frustrated and pulled out the 2 push pins holding the pigtail in and brought it up top. (the fog light pigtail is part of that bundle and in my case not used) Mounted the module in the plastic tray just aft of the battery. spliced the parking light wire to the left sidelight just behind the bulb connector. other wires all hooked to wires from the Ford DSL connector: ground, hot, hot with ignition, and low beams. Did not hook up the optional wire to the parking brake. Couldn't really tell the colors to post, just used a multimeter to find which wires did what, then cut them and spliced them to the Delco wires per Delcos included instructions. Now about 10 seconds after the ignition is turned on the low beams come on at reduced power just as DRL's should and turning on parking lights/headlights turns of the DRL's and the headlights function as normal. My insurance agent and my wallet will be happy!!

Thanks for the heads up on the DRL module. I picked up that last one he had. I guess the GM light module fits with the GM auto mirror I'm putting on my Ranger. Just don't tell anyone I put Genuine GM parts on my Ford. Oh the shame!
