Default Trailer light wire help

First off i have a 1999 3.0L V6 XLT Ranger. So i bought a Reese T-Connector which is supposed to be compatible for Rangers between 1993-1999. Fit's fine but doesn't work. Upon further inspection i can see that the prongs for the T-Connector kit don't line up with the Ranger's. Here's a picture of the t-connector.

There's only 4 wires going into the ranger's T-connector Brown W/ white stripe, Black, Yellow, and Green.

Has anyone had a similar experience or can point me in the direction of a part that will fit?

Does your truck have amber turn signals separate from the brake lights? Or one red stop/tail/turn?

If i understand your question right... My truck has three lights out back. Top one is the turn signal, middle one is stop/running lights, bottom one appears to do nothing.

Well the bottom one that does nothing is your reverse lights..... I'm thinking if you don't know you have reverse lights, you should probably let the shop put the trailer light harness on.

Is there another wire coming off the box not connected to anything with a ring terminal on it?
