Default Shift cable lead to more problems

So when my problems started i had a bad shift cable, so i replaced that, now my truck wont start at all any ideas on how to fix it? It's a 99 4 cylinder 2 wheel drive automatic.

any other symptoms? click? no click? can you hear the fuel pump prime? what else did you touch while you were down there? did you disconnect the battery? we need more details, that's way too vague to try to diagnose over the internet

it constantly clicks unless if im on the brake, yes i disconnected the battery, oh and the engine isn't even trying to turn over, i was thinking it was the neutral safety switch somehow not recognizing it was in park, but i have no other ideas on how to fix it or if it something else

did you adjust the linkage right so the trans is actually in park?

^ x2 on that, i replaced a shift cable in my dads F-250 and i didn't adjust it right so it was actually in reverse when the shifter was in park, adjusted it and havent had a problem since

I believe that it is right, where is the arm when it is in park to the front or rear of the truck? and thank you for your help

I am assuming you mean the rod attached to the trans, almost sure it is to the rear of the truck
