Default 1996 ford ranger cruise control wiring

hey i have a 1996 ranger 5 speed with 4 cylinder i do not have factory cruise control and have had enough speeding tickets so i took all the pieces i was wondering if some one had the wiring diagram or could tell me what all the wires do on the controler under the hood that has the cable going to the intake

One grounds your speed indicator bulb in your cluster.
One goes to your speed sensor.
One goes to your brake switch.
Two goe to your switches.
One is power.
ONe goes to ground.
And one goes to your brake pressure switch (you don't have one) so you can just jump this to your power wire.

I don't know what the colors are for your model.

is that from left to right on the plug in on the module i got a module out of an explorer so the colors would not of been right any way mine wires are labeled one through ten and two and eight are not used

When I get back to my wiring diagrams in Knoxville (I'm about 90 miles away right now, be back probably tomorrow night), I let you know exactly what colors mean what. You get a throttle cable? The cable is specific to each engine.

no but i can go and get a different one i dont know what engine this one is off besides it was out of an explorer i would also be curious on the wireing for the switches i work on semis normally i just dont have any wiring diagrams for anything like this

I've always heard that you should get a cable that is specific for your engine. It is because fo the length. As long as the cable is long enough and doesn't bind up when routing it to your throttle body. You may be fine.

Wiring for the switches is just two wires. There are ribbon cables that connect the two switches together and connect them to the clockspring. From the clockspring the are just two wires. Each button has a certain resistor so the servo sees the diferent resistances through these two wires to determine what to do.

Actually it uses voltages but the difference in the resistance changes the voltage.

did you come up with anything on the voltages or resistances on the switches or what all of the wires do
