Default Do rangers without fog lights still have the fog light wires?

I installed 2 rally round lights in front of my truck...And i found a bezel at the junk yard that comes with the fog light switch...While looking inside the dash i noticed a connector sitting there not connected to anything and it fits directly into the plug for the fog light switch on the new bezel i got....So my question is....does any one know if this is the fog light plug? and if so where would i find the wiring in the engine compartment so that i can wire up the whole thing....Im trying to avoid having to run new wires....

Well first i would need to find out where the harness is under the hood so i can connect to them...assuming that my truck DOES have it....Would you happen to know where that harness is?

Well they would probably be located somewhere NEAR where THE FOGLIGHTS would be.

My friends 02 XLT has no stock fog lights, but her truck has the stock fog light harness in there. I was thinking about going thru her truck one day to find where the harness actually goes cuz there is no switch in the cab for fog lights haha. Let me know if you find where that harness goes

If you have the harness at the bumper to connect the actual foglight. The wires will travel up to the dist. box under the hood on the driver side. It contains relays and fuses. After that it will end and you need to add the wires to the radio bezel.

Some come with the wires from bumper to dist box
Some come with the wires from the radio bezel to dist box.

Ok this is what i have concluded....My truck DOES have the wire in the dash for the fog lights....I have confirmed this because the bezel i have came from an explorer not a ranger..and in the explorer bezel i have switch for a defroster ( i am going to use it for something else) and then i have the switch for the fog lights that my previous bezel did not come with....now if you look at the switches, Both female connectors on them are exactly the same (4 pin) and same shape.... But to distinguesh both connecters to there proper switch...they added a little notch on the switch....one on the left to accept the connector for the rear defrost....and one on the right to accept the fog light connector..and mine only has it on the right so it must be specificaly for a fog light.....

The switch has two lights on it as some of you may know...when you turn ON the head lights the picture of the fog lamp illuminates.....and when you toggle the switch ON the little green light above the picture of the fog lamp illuminates....

When i plugged up the connector and turned on the head lights the fog lamp picture did illuminate......but when i toggled the switch ON..the little green light did not turn on.......(and yes i did make sure the bulb was not burnt as i also manualy applied power from the battery to the switch and it did illuminate)

This really puzzled me...So i decided to look at the fuse block....and learned that the fuse and the two relays that the fuse diagram says go for the fog lights are not there.....in fact i cant even add them because the fuse block does not have the metal clips in those slots...like if the truck did not come with the option.....but if thats the case...THEN WHY INCLUDE THIS CABLE IN THE FIRST PLACE!?!???

ok...after reading this crazy ass long story i just posted lol can any one give me an idea at what may be the case here?

You can make your own relays for it and a switch with a built it relay ( see Buggman for that kit). Then you can add OEM fog pig tails, I believe you can wire them under the hood with there own relay, similar to a Hella lamp wiring kit and it should work. Pm Buggman, he will steer you in the best direction. If you need relays and pig tails for the fogs I have them. You get the wiring kit from buggman, relays and pitails from me you might just be able to do OEM fogs

on my 96 the that does not have factory fogs still had the wire looms running down the inside of each fender. They stopped at about the air box and the battery respectively. So in this case, I would need the fogs and the harness from the fogs to the plug ins in those areas. I would think that most rangers are going to have the wiring. Ford is not going to make seperate harnesses for different style rangers, there made on an assembly line, all the parts are the same for the most part.

Alright guys i already solved my fog light issue...Seeing that my truck lacked the complete harness for the fog lights (only had the connector in the dash) i went ahead and bought a relay from autozone and ran the wires my self to the factory button and everything is working now like if it was factory. only thing is that i did not put the relay in the fuse box as it did not have the clips in the slot to accept it so i had to place it some where else in the engine bay. Lights work awesome, now all i gotta do is aim them properly and im set.

The only reason i went so crazy with this is because i really wanted to use the factory switch (i did not want to just place an after market switch and call it a day...thats ugly...and plus..i like the fact that it lights up when i turn on the head lights and it has a little indicator light when i turn on the fog lights.)
