Default Blower Motor Gremlin

Blower goes from speed that is set to high intermittently. Already replaced speed control gadget on blower box. Thought I saw some replacement harness ends for that because they go bad??

Any help appreciated.

By the way, new member. 2000 Ranger 4.0. Nothing special Farm/Beater Truck. Just trying to get 'er right. Already replaced a window regulator and motor this week with great success.

Thanks.

Sorry, it goes to high regardless of switch setting. But it does this intermittently. On the way to work this eve it was fine.

Thanks

Sounds like the relay is getting stuck or it might be shorted to power.
The relay only controls the highest blower motor speed. So if the blower turns on randomly to highest the high side circuit (relay) would have a malfunction.

There is no relay on the blower motor on any year ranger.

If you've already replaced the resistor pack, then either you a bad connector on the switch or resistor pack, OR the the blower speed switch is shot.

You sure??

This is the blower motor wiring schematic for a 2000 Ford Ranger 4.0 =]

PUNISHER,
Look at the electrical schematic and follow the wires and see if any of them are corroded.

haha. doh.

But none the less, it is impossible for the relay to cause this problem. It is still either the connector or the switch like I said before.
