Question Flex Fuel Sensor Problem

Ok so I have a 2000 Ranger with the Flex Fuel... Engine Light ON.. P0176 Code.. This code states it is a Fuel Sensor Circuit Failure... Prior to finding that out, I was told at the ford Dealer that the Flex Fuel Sensor must be bad and that it should be replaced... unfortunately I couldn't afford $800.00 to replace it so I bought a Flex Fuel Replicator from www.tandselectronics.com

I installed the Replicator with no issues, have cleared the code 4 times and the Engine Light is still ON... I'm thinking it's a wiring issue... any ideas??? I need a wiring diagram to find all the damn wires under there... I will just wire the replicator direct... Someone please HELP!!! Thanks!

I have been told that its usually just corrosion on the plug when that happens but I have never had this problem. I have a couple of the fuel compensation sensors laying around but I don't have a truck to test them on right now. If it's not the plug on the sensor it could be the plug under the drivers seat or a worn spot on the harness.

Question Re: Flex Fuel Sensor Problem

My engine light is on and the code is po176. My question is about flex fuel sensor replicators. Do they work? Will the code go away and will the engine light turn off? Is there a specific brand of replicator recommended and is it difficult to install? Thanks for any ideas/help

Thanks for your reply, I tried a replicator from point A engineering. So far it works great, check engine light is off, and it took 10 minutes to install. Im happy I tried it.
