The speedometer on my 99 Ranger works great until it hits 70 mph, and then it decides to freak out. It starts swinging back and forth between 80 and 50 until I slow it back down below 70 and then it works again. It was never a problem before, just annoying to have to keep slowing down in order to get the needle to reset.
However, today driving down the highway my engine started running poorly. It was similar to if I was in a low gear and I was trying to speed up without up shifting. RPM"s were high, and the engine was revving loudly, but it wasn't going anywhere, and then all of a sudden like a switch it went back to normal. Pretty freaked out about it, wondering if anyone else has had the same problem or knows a solution. Thanks!
