Question Battery Arching

Just replaced my 5 speed, Now battery is arching, I made sure the wires on the starter are well spaced.
What else should I be looking at?

You're going to have to actually explain in detail what is going on. "My battery is arching" makes no sense. I assume you mean "arcing", but you haven't said what, where, when, how, and what you did. This is like me saying "My truck won't start, why?" and not saying anything else.

Generally, it doesn't, which is another reason this isn't making much sense without him explaining what is going on.

I replaced the 5 speed, and when I put the battery cables back on, it fried my battery.
It sparked on the negative pole to my cable end, and burned the pole.
I don't have any power inside to even try the starter.
I've checked all the fuses and maxi-fuses.

I can only think that I put the wires on wrong at the starter, but I only pulled one nut and a speaker wire terminal end.
Can anybody describe how the wires are supposed to be hooked back in?

Does the '92 have the fender mounted starter relay or the one in the power box and built into the starter motor?

I wonder if poles got reversed or something. We had someone do that in one of my classes the other day and it caused all kinds of awesome haywire crazyness. lol. If there is 0 power at all or whatever and all the fuses look good, check for fuse-able links being cooked.

still dont understand the arcing thing either though. what exactly was happening?

I know my 94 has the fender mounted starter relay/solenoid.

I found the neg. battery cable wrong, and grounded it to a starter bolt, but it still doesn't work right. I think I have the wires right, but I'm going to test the starter and battery today.

Dude, you have to start actually describing in detail what is going on. Nothing you're saying these short little 2 sentence posts make any sense. We can't help you if we don't know what you're doing.

Yea fireranger is right man. Detail is king here since we aren't able to look at what's going on in person. Try and walk us thru step by step what you have done/are doing.

I had neg and pos cables together on the starter large bolt, don't know why I thought they went together.
They are separated now, and I have power in the cab, but it is still not turning the bendix. All I got last night was the relay click.
I am going to test the starter and battery today.

DOH!

If you put those wires together, you probably roasted the battery. It wouldn't have damaged the starter since the fault was before the motor windings. You also may have melted down the fender mounted relay (you did have that hooked up too, right???)
