Tach needle goes crazy
ok guys lets see if you can help with this one, I star the engine and the needle goes up to 6,000 and comes back boobles for a while and when the engine come to idle it settles.... I press the gas and it goes all crazy all the way up and down.
While driving the needle goes down to 0 (when my foot is on the gas) if I take it off it will show the correct (i'm guessing because of the sound) number of revs... what could this be... is there a plug in the engine that might be loose? if so where is it... any other Ideas?? I'm shure STL can shed some light on this... Thanks guys!

dose it have a cam position sensor? if so its going out if not i am stumped

ya it on some of the bigger motors of fords just not to sure about yours

oh ok..... the needle drives me crazy, I just might put a gauge... and forget about the one in the dash.......
anyone knows where the one in the dash gets connected to the engine??? I'm pretty sure it's something easy like a bad connection 'cause it works sometime... if I;m not going either too fast or on a bumpy road
