Default '98 Ranger XL ABS Light

I have a 98 xl with a constant ABS light. Have only had the truck 2 days and the previous owner told me he had just replaced the sensor but the llight is still on. Does this require a reset or is this something that will reset itself when the problem is corrected? I haven't been under the truck but I assume there is a sensor for each wheel?? I believe it is rear ABS only. Like I said, I have had the truck 2 days. The previous owner had it 3 months and purchased it from the original owner. Basically he had it long enough to change the oil/ coolant/ brake fluid/ plugs & wires/ belt/ fuel filter and air filter. Oh.and the sensor for the ABS.
