Rt marker light stays on. Goes out when parking lamps are turned on.

I just fixed my wrecked 2003 ford Ranger. The core support was smashed so I replaced it and welded on a new one. The right marker light wires and a few other wires were wedged in the old core support so I cut them off to reconnect them later. Well, here's the problem, with the key out and headlights off, locked or unlocked, the right marker light stays on. But when I turn the parking lights or headlights on, the light turns off and the rest of the parking lights turn on like they should. No blown fuses. No broken wires that I can find. I mean the light wouldn't work if there was a broken wire right? Also, the parking lamp fuse would blow if it was a short to ground. I'm relatively wire savy, but if it works when turned off and goes off, when turned on. I'm lost.

Found it! Well, went to start my truck (new battery yesterday) and the battery was dead. Looked all around, no broken or crossed wires. Went to jumpstart the truck and as soon as I hooked up the jumpercables....the doors locked! keys inside... also, my blinkers work without the key on??? What the?

Then I noticed I missed the ground wire that comes out of the end of the harness by the heater box. I bolted it up and all the problems stopped. My speed cont light is off, my parking lamps and blinkers are back to normal.

Just the darn ground wire...I There are four ground wires to the harness, didn't think it would have messed with it, but I guess it did.
