Exclamation oh no not another turn signal issue!!

hey guys im new here i just bought me a 97 ford ranger shortbed 5speed 2.3l. it has a trailer hitch set up.

ok so when i turn my head lights on the left signal stays solid
when i shut the lights off everything works like it should.
now when i turn on my hazard lights the front right isnt even on but the rest work. now i wiggled around the hazard button ans it acted like it has a short.. it didnt change the left turn signal issue's

so at this point im kinda irratated and i pop the hood and started tracking down the wires and connections all seemed fine. the bulbs looked good.

now there is this box that is wired up to the batt and it has 3 little lights on it and then i followed those wires and it led to another box like it but with no lights it was just taped to inside of engine bay and was grounded out.
so i thought why not and decided to unplug this box..
i got back inside truck and still same problem

so i hooked it all up again and cleaned off some connection points.

turned the ranger on and turned the head lights on and it started working. i wiggled the heck out of everything and it still works.

i dont get paid till end of week and im just trying to figure out what could be the cause of these problems so i can buy whatever it may need.

ill post some pictures up once i get home from work tonight on what thos little boxs looks like. the labels where worn down so i couldnt figure out what the heck it said.

any ideas or problem solver's are needed!!

did you buy a new clicker? not sure if your truck has one, but usually the cars have a intermittent relay that just plugs in. They are $10-$20 maybe. It's the think that goes "click, click, click" when the blinker is on.

Another thing to check is the stereo (if there is an aftermarket stereo) light wire. Your dash lights are hooked into the parking light system and headlight system. i.e. your dash light wire grounds out, your parking light fuse will blow.

My jeep does the same problem, but I'm too lazy to look behind the stereo. All my lights work. Usually if the blinker blinks fast, a bulb is out. Remember, many lighting systems are hot at the light and ground at the switch...a bad ground could easily be the problem. Check out my post, crazy, but it was just a disconnected ground wire.

Read the first and last posts of both.

DUDE!!
HOLY CRAP!! Epiphony!!

One of your blinker bulbs is twisted in backwards...(blinker element and parking lamp element in same bulb) if so, your making a connection between your parking lamps and your left blinker. heck, you hit your left blinker and your parking lamps might even blink...or stay solid...they are solid right?

Check the bulbs. if they are corroded, completely drench the socket with contact cleaner from NAPA or an auto parts store and get new bulbs.

I'd bet $5 this is the problem. let me know if this works!
