Default my abs is doing something strange

When I come to a normal stop - the abs activates in the last few feet of my stopping. No codes in the system and the fuse is intact - any ideas ? Oh yeah -no abs light on except at start up

It's one of your front speed sensors. When it happens let go of the wheel to see which way it turns, the opposite side speed sensor is bad. If it pulls to the left the right sensor is bad.

I was a Chassis R&D engineer (major world wide supplier), what you have is called "false activation", many causes but if you pull wheel sensors and remove any metal dust/splinters and coat with dielectric grease it may help. Also many intersections/stop sign areas have fine sand/dirt/dust that cause mini NVH (noise/vibration/harshness) occurances that feedback as wheel lock. Are all your tires same size? There are many reasons this occurs (including rotor corrosion, friction pad compound, etc.) you usually can induce this issue depending on sensitivity of sensors, algorymthms, etc. bottom line if you have no vehicle "run on" (hard pedal, no stop, blows thru stop, etc.) just live with it. I found this most noticeable on Ford trucks because of brake bias upon application in 2 wd (i.e. rear pressure limited to 900 psi, front system at full line pressure).

WVCAT
You nailed it !! Thank you so much . It pulled to the left so I replaced the right side sensor - problem solved .
