Default 4W LOW light wont light up

Hi everyone!

I was wondering why my the light of the 4W LOW of my 01 ranger won't light up?

It's curious that the 4W HIGH light up and also you can hear the " CLICK " sound below the passenger air bag but when you shift to 4W LOW nothing happens.

Just to clarify that I already check the dash bulbs and all of them are OK.
Also verified the 4W LOW on the road and actually felt the difference between LOW and HIGH.

Any ideas???

Thanks!

LOL so basically it's another non-sense bulb in the dash like the "CHECK FUEL CAP" ???

r u sure your in 4-lo. you have to put it in neutral and apply the brake to go into 4-LO. If your just hitting the switch, its not going into 4-LO. You can hit 4-HI at any safe speed though.

And please don't tell me you didn't engage this stuff on dry pavement....good way to bind and destroy your transfer case

I don't know a lot about 4x4. if you put it in 4x4 on dry pavement it can mess it up? or non-dry pavement?

thx

i think its not flat areas that are an issue. i think its just dry pavement. power is being applied to all four wheels and if youre on dry pavement there is no give. long story short, if power is being directed to all 4 wheels and it cant be disipated by the terrain then it will be foreced into the gears and screw stuff up.
