alright,

At a point where it's really hard to troubleshoot without being there with a few testers but i am thinking that when you hooked the brown to brown you caused a higher current to flow which cooked/blew something (no duh...i point out the obvious). was it the driver side or passenger side you hooked up wrong? (or both?)

Pg. 40. Look at fuse 35. look at the items that run off that fuse and the low current board. do these items correlate with the items you are having problems with?

alright so we narrowed a few things down. I am wondering about the Fuse 1 (5A) on the same page. that fuse appears to power the interior lighting system. pg 40 and 37 will be helpful at this point. If you follow the wire from fuse 5A (Ref pg 37) you will see that it does supply power to a lot of the components giving you issues. My suspicions are something with that fuse or that splice (S217).
You could take a meter and test for voltage drop across the fuse and see if you have any. Or you could remove the fuse from the system and ohm it to see if it is high resistance. This could be a good starting point. you should verify the fuse is getting power as well with a meter by testing it at the positive side with a read meter lead and grounding the black lead to a known good ground (battery). if you have power one the + side of the fuse and none at the - you would know the fuse is bad. some fuses can be bad and now show visible signs of failure. By connecting the 2 brown wires you increased the current (amps) on that circuit by removing 2 load items. That is my thought anyway.

okay ill go check fuse one now ....wiring wil have to wait til tmw..i have no way to test power...

----------

fuse one looks good, may replace anyway

----------

okay seems like that splice could be a problem....how do i go about that?

just to verify you are looking at the fuse in the Smart Junction Box (SMJ) right?
