Default Need 1993 Ranger gauge help!

Ok, I just purchased this truck and Water ,oil and fuel gauges are kinda screwy.
The guy I purchased this truck from had told me that the fuel gauge didnt work but he didnt say anything about the oil and water acting funny.
Ok Im gonna try and describe this to best of my abilities and Im hoping somebody has had the same thing happen to their truck and corrected it.
The day after delivering the truck to my driveway I decided to go out and check out my new truck and I noticed that without even sticking the key in the ignition that the water and oil gauges were stuck in their normal operating ranges and the fuel gauge was stuck at way past the full mark.
I turn the ignition to the on position and the water and oil gauges drop to the bottom but the fuel gauge is stuck at completely full.
Ok, I go to start it and once running the oil gauge goes to the normal range right away and the water gauge works like it should and after 15 minutes I go to shut the truck off and the water and oil gauges stay stuck in their operating positions and the fuel gauge is as always stuck completely full.
Well since the battery had tons of corrosion and some of the body grounds were kinda rusty looking I decided to clean alll body grounds and install brand new battery clamps as well as clean all the battery wires up.
After doing this I get back into the truck and the only difference I made is that when I turn the ignition on the fuel gauge actually dips just below the full mark and then goes back to completely full again.
Now I can live with the water and oil gauges because they do actually work correctly just kinda goofy that they stay stuck after turning off key.

I still have some more exploring to do with the fuel gauge and one thing that would help is knowing exactly how much fuel I have in the tank and I have been assuming that its close to empty but it could very well be close to full? Think im gonna try and siphon some out and see what happens?
In the meantime I was just wondering if anybody has had these exact symptoms and what you didi to take care of it? Thanks...Marc
