Exclamation Airbag Light

2005 Ranger XLT
The airbag light stays on solid.I checked and cleaned the wire connectors under the driver and passenger seats. The PAD light does not come on like it's supposed to.But there is no blinking code just a solid light on the dash.If there is other trouble in the system would that disable the pad from working? Besides the wiring under the seats what would cause a soild light? Fuses or relays? Just started after having timing chain replaced. I thought there might be an external sensor but from reading the posts I guess there aren't any outside? I guess I could try a bulb just not great at soldering. Thanks for any help.

If I recall the airbag code needs to be manually cleared, so a simple battery disconnect will not fix the issue. Get the code cleared and see if it comes back.

Can the code be cleared with an OBD-II scanner? I tried disconnecting the Battery with no results.I had the light come on about 2 years ago and it was the wire under the seat,Not so this time.
Thanks for the reply,

Angry Re: Airbag Light

Here is an update on what I've done so far.
Disconnected and cleaned both driver and passenger seatbelt connectors under the seats.Removed the Passenger side airbag switch.I put a 9volt battery across the connectors of the bulb and it lit.So I'm figuring the bulb works.Just not as it's supposed to in the system? I checked all fuses both under the hood and in the truck all good.Is there anything else I can try? Airbag light still stays on solid. No flashes and no audible tones? Tried my Innova OBDII scanner but shows no codes present.
Thanks.
