Exclamation tpms light ?

ok so i get new wheels and tire and I had them put the tpms sensor on the new wheels and the light keeps going on and off. if I go about 3 miles the light will come on for about a mile then it goes back off then back on. Is their a fuse I can pull out to make this light stay off?

So, just to clarify, do you put new tires on your stock wheels? It sounds like you put new wheels & tires on but at last check the only way to transfer the TPMS was to buy new parts from Ford, did you do that?

And when you say the light goes off then back on do you mean it flashes? My TPMS sensors are no longer in my wheels so when I start the truck it flashes at me and then every however often it will flash more for a few seconds.

Have you checked the air in all the tires and made sure they are all at factory door specs?

There's no fuse to pull... it's a system that last time I checked no one had come up with a way to disable it. I've just gotten used to the light being on (it's been 2 years now).

One way they have "by passed" the system is to get a PVC pipe attach to ends to it place a TPMS in the tube fill it with air however much the factory air pressure is. Place it under the seat

I would guess either there was a problem with the install or I heard a rumor you have to recalibrate the system when there's a change made so maybe that needs to be done? If you went through the effort to have the TPMS moved over I would talk to the shop that did it and make sure it was right. It's part of the job you paid them to do IMO and sounds like it was done wrong.

Yeah seriously. I didn't know they started putting that stupid "feature" in Rangers.

You may be right. I have seen on the Volkswagen forums where they have to recalibrate. Even if the same size tire is installed.

Just curious... I mean, if a shop did it and you paid them to do it why not have them fix it?

Oh.... well more than likely it wasn't done right... TPMS on a Ranger is relatively new and isn't set up the way most other vehicles are. I would just cut your losses and ignore the light like I do. It doesn't beep and you get used to it. You could pull the cluster apart to mess with the bulb but that's the only solution I've ever seen to the problem.
