Default wire in frame rail

I'm trying to figure out what wire runs inside the frame rail. I found a corroded end(small insulated wire) in the engine compartment, followed it down into the frame rail but then lost it. Trying to figure out where each end should be and if I need to fix it. Thanks for the help.

I was going to say if you had a Tonno cover on the back, it might supply power to that but since your dont, idk.

is the wire on the left side or right side?
what does it go into in the engine compartment?
Color of wire?
