Default looking for an electrical guru! anyone up for the task?

Okay, I'm trying to wire my replacement mirrors. Yes they are aftermarket.
The problem that I am running into is, the factory mirrors only have three (3) wires per mirror. the replacements have four (4) per mirror.
I have the diagram for the factory mirrors, as well as the diagram for the replacements.
Anyone think they can figure it out if I show the diagrams?

No, just power and lighted.
The lighting part is easy...
Black wire ground.
Dark Blue wire to turn signal for blue LED indicator.
Dark Orange wire to turn signal for Amber indicator.
Light Blue wire to running lights for blue LED running light LED.
Orange/White wire to running lights for Amber running light LED.
The motorized part is whats giving me trouble.
Each mirror has 4 wires for the 2 motors.
Ford mirrors only use 3 wires for the 2 motors.

Put up the diagrams, it could just be a spare wire or a second ground.

and i want pics of those mirrors, they sound pretty sweet

I had to draw out the diagram for the aftermarket mirrors as I don't have a scanner. Tried to snap a pic of it but you couldn't read the pic.
anyway, this is what the wiring for the motors looks like....

And this is what the wiring for the factory looks like....

Now ya got me stumped! Try the process of elimination connect the wires according to the guide, leave the 4th one out, see what functions the mirrors perfom without connecting that one wire and go from there. Thats the only thing I could suggest for now. Definately post pics of those pimped out mirrors though, I would like to see them!

I'll try that this weekend I guess when I'm off work.
If nothing else, I can use them as manual and just have the lights.

You should be able to wire them and let them work. I know some explorers had the 4 wire set up for the puddle lights so it may be just an unnecessary wire

The aftermarket one is changing the polarity through a switch. The four wires are needed to make them function properly. The facdtory one uses a common ground.

Pbav8tor,
so there is no work around short of rewiring the whole switch?

it looks like hooking the two grounds up to the same wire should both work. the ford switch is whats determining positive/negative flow.

You mean on the factory side or the aftermarket side?
Factory side, there is only one ground. (yellow)
On aftermarket side, there is no ground. Each wire is both (+) and (-) depending on desired muction.

You can't leave a wire out. The new mirrors require both to work for each motor. The L/R and U/D motors have two wires each. Swapping the + & - on them determines which direction the motor turns. You can't leave one or that motor will not work at all.

The factory one probably does the same thing. BUT. Since you can only go Up/Down or left/right (not up and left at the same time for example), they have combined two of the wires since it won't matter as only one motor operates at a time.

Since you'll be using the same factory switch, you can combine two common functioning wires on the aftermarket mirrors. On both sides, tie the factory yellow to the aftermarket yellow and red. On the left, factory dark green to aftermarket white, factory purple to aftermarket Blue. On the right side, factory red to aftermarket white, factory dark blue to aftermarket blue.

If after doing that, the controls operate reversed, you will have redo it with the factory yellow tied to the aftermarket blue and white. It's a crapshoot guess which way will give you the right direction since the diagrams don't indicate what polarity is what direction.
