Tach install
My truck does not have a Tach installed and I was thinking on buying one and mounting it some place. how hard is it to install one(just the wiring and hookup, not installation in dash or anything) Anyone have any thoughts on good aftermarket tachs that are cheap?

Re: Tach install
If you found a gauge cluster from a ranger that had a tach. Automatics do it is a direct install.
www.car-part.com search all salvage yards in your state.

Re: Tach install
it still works for 95-97, a couple idiot lights are different. You could hook up an aftermarket tach, but I think they look "tachy" hahahaha lol it going to be a great day!

Re: Tach install
its just plug an play. You have to take off the lower panel under the steering wheel. take out the radio bezel. then take off the cluster bezel. then there are 4 7mm screws, take those out. This will free up the cluster. If you have a tilt wheel tilt it down. Pull the cluster out bottom first, unplug the three plugs. Plug in new cluster, re-assemble

Re: Tach install
real easy, theres a how to here http://www.fordrangerforum.com/how-s...03-trucks.html
Instead of acutally turning the numbers tho, just unbolt the odometer and install yours. Use the battery method for reinstalling the needle or use a gps to set it. Another way to set it is to drive and constatly press the cruise, cruise is set to go on at 30mph, once your in cruise then set the needle
