Default battey cable end (battery side)

Hey anyone have a pic of the battery cable end for an 01. Last night I went to start my truck and nothing. Had my dad come out and try, and I saw an ark from the cable, turns out the cable was just loose, and I retightened it and its perfectly fine now, but the end looked a bit sketchy, it lookedlike a replacement one. Ill upload a pic of mine later for reference nowhere near the truck atm.

Yea I'd say that's different than stock. It appears like one from Napa or something. What you can do to get more slack in the wire is follow it back a little ways and pull it off of the push pins that hold it in tight. I'm not sure if you'll understand what I mean but if you need a better explanation or something PM me and I'll try and get some pics of what I'm talking about.

you could probably clean that terminal and post with a terminal/post cleaner tool and try that instead of putting on a new terminal. either way, not a big deal to do.

Nah theres nothing wrong with it, it just came loose, and the cable going to the starter got disconnected, tightened it up and good to go.

I was gonna suggest that. and also check your ground cable. sometimes they can come lose from the grounding point. for the longest time when my a/c would kick in my lights would dim. it wasn't until i bought a new battery and went to install it that i realized my ground was loose...o well new battery is a good thing anyway.

You just need to get a set of these:

Problem solved permanently.

Those lead type terminals from WallyWorld or auto parts stores aren't that great. The lead tends to crush easily, loosening the cables.

The OEM terminals are OK if you keep them clean & tight and ONLY have the OEM equipment installed, but if you plan on adding lights, stereo, etc. you're better off upgrading the terminals to something with more flexibility & more clamping ability.

BTW:
I have a few sets of those battery terminals

Cool as a cucumber.

It's overkill I know, but when I upgraded that alternator to a 200a I upgraded all the power/grounds with 1/0ga wire.
The terminals come with 1x 1/0ga, 1x 4ga & 2x 8ga openings but I modded the 4ga opening for 1/0ga.
