Question Automatic Door Locks Cause Engine to Stop?

Hi. I'm new to the forum and am hoping someone might have some help for our daughter and son-in-law's truck. They recently purchased a 98 Ranger Ext. Cab 4x4 6 cyl. 4.0 135,000 miles
The previous owner told them that he disconnected the automatic door locks because every time the passenger side one engages, the truck's engine stops.

Any one else experienced this problem? My husband thought it might have something to do with the security system? Suggestions?

Thank you!

Welcome to FRF
I have heard of that at times, but it was with an aftermarket security system
