I have a '94 ranger and I can not get the 4x4 to work. The push button switch does not light up at all. I checked the big 20 amp fuse under the hood and its good. So next I replaced the switch, still nothing. I talked to a Ford mehanic and he told me the "module" was bad, so that too was replaced and still nothing. If anybody knows something else I can try to do to this truck, I would appreciate it. Thanks

the shift motor on the t case is most likey the cause em things go left and right. replace that and it should fix your problem

I have the same issue with my '94

Replaced the shift motor. No change

Replaced the 4x4 computer. No change

Not sure where to go from here.

Why throw parts at it when you're just guessing?

Are you sure the T-case is shifting? Can you jack it up, and spin the FRONT driveshaft by hand? Do the front axle shafts spin? Do the hubs engage? Maybe the hubs need maintenance? Can you remove the shift motor and turn the T-case shift-knob by hand (ie, pliers), to guarantee it's in 4HI mode?
