I'm going to be welding up a metal box for the base of the battery to in and I'll be bolting it to the floor then I'll be strapping the battery down to that box.

You're putting vented lead acid batteries inside the cab????? I think you might want to reconsider that setup.

It's a sealed battery. Calm down.

The birth sheet on it says 2300w rms at 14.4v. Sooo... I'd say about 2000w.

Well that's good. I still don't think a giant vat of boiling acid, sealed or not, is a wise thing to place in the cab like that. Especially when I see red wires are being used for grounds...

Do you have a higher capacity alternator to supply the current required for this system?

What does using a red wire for a ground have to do with anything? And no I don't have an upgraded alternator.

Because all industry standards for low voltage wiring use red and other misc colors for positive circuits and blacks for ground. You've done the opposite. You will realize why doing what you did is a bad idea when you or someone else mistakenly tries to follow industry standards and blow something up. That something could easily be the big box of acid a foot away from your face. Will it work? Yes. Did you do a good job installing it all? Yes. Is what you did wise and in line with standard industry practice, no. Will I be accused for being an ******* for pointing this out, probably.

Without an upgraded alternator, you're just going to end up with two dead batteries instead of one.

I still don't understand how having a red ground wire is a problem? The whole battery is getting covered up anyways by a wood cover/box I'm building for it. And many, MANY people run sealed batteries in the cab without any problems.

I think you do understand, I did type in english. You just don't care. Which is my whole point. But it's your truck and your prerogative. Hopefully it doesn't bite you in the ass.
