Hello friends. I have a 2003 ford ranger xlt.

I brought it to my mechanic to get the front bearings changed and when i got it back today, it felt like it was stuck in 4 wheel drive, even though the selector switch was in 2wd.

I took it in the the snow and sure enough, the car is in 4wd high. I am sure of it.


But my lights on my dash that usually say 4wd or 4wd low are not on at all, and when i move the switch to change it, nothing happens, no lights and no sound... I always used to hear a clicking sound when i switched from 2wd to 4wd.

I checked all my fuses and they are all good. I checked the number 5 fuse which my manual said is the 4wd controller box fuse and it is good.


Does anyone have any clue what is going on? Any help is greatly appreciated!

he dosent have hubs lol 00 up rangers are live axel... any way when you start your truck do you 4x4 lights come on and go back off are nothing happens.. if nothings happens its your 4x4 cm its bechind the kick pannel on pass side. 01-03 rangers their bad to go out on ford had a bad batch of em.
