Is this the same way with a 95 ranger Manuel? I don't have a tac but I have other gauges (diffident style). What would it take to switch to the tac gauge cuz I hate not having a tac.

thx

Thanks for the guide! I replaced 3 of my dash lights today and this made it easy.

I've done it twice using this excellent tutorial. In fact, I'm doing it again, now. The only fiddly part is getting the instrument cluster out from behind the wheel. Just go slowly and it works fine. Also be aware that you'll need to pop out the PNDLR display (two tabs hold it in) at the bottom of the cluster to completely remove it. Not needed to replace bulbs, though. I had a larger problem dealing with the board itself which I may have fixed thanks to Mike on this forum.

Big mistake...you should have replaced all of them with new ones...not just the burnt out ones. Now soon those older ones will just burn out and u will have to tear it all apart again!

Going to try this how-to. Anyone know where I can get a instrument cluster with a tach for a 1996 Ford Ranger XLT? Will an Explorer cluster work in a Ranger?

I tried three times to figure it out how to get to the bulbs and never succeeded. Hate to pay $150.00 for light bulbs to be changed. Hope it will work. Thanks to everyone that posted this info. If you know where to get the cluster, please let me know.
Mike
