left tail light keeps going out

so, i just replaced my left tail light/ blinker like 7 months ago because it burned out, and now it just burned out again, im pretty sure those lights last longer then that, and it was the same light that burned out, i checked grounds and fuses, not sure what it is, and also the left license plate light went out so i know its some kind of problem not just a simple swap of the bulbs, anybody have any ideas?

Im having the same problem on my 07 ranger the driver side rear light keeps burning out I had the truck in to a shop and they told me I needed to replace the bulb socket. I fixed the problem for 1 day now its burning bulbs again. Did you ever find out what was wrong with yours I hate bringing the truck in to the shop as they charge $100 and hour in labor.

What brand bulbs are you buying? Next time try a 3157LL (LL meaning long life). Also keep your receipt since most bulbs have a 2 month warranty. The really good ones have a year.

Sometimes at these auto parts stores (or really any store) they throw the boxes around and can damage the filaments, making them not last as long.

Also, 7 months to me doesn't sound that bad. If you were blowing bulbs within a week I would say you had a problem.

Yea, I guess it was just a one time thing, the bulbs I put in are still going, still think its a little strange how the driver side plate light and blinker went out the same time, just hope it doesn't show up again but probably will. I also strait up shoved a hose behind my back wheels and sprayed the crap out of the inside of the tail light housings freeing all the dirt and muck, think that helped a lot with the problem

check to see if moisture is getting in the sockets.
