Driver side blinker blinks very fast but all bulbs are fine.

I recently put a Ford hitch cover on my Ranger that lights up. I noticed after this my driver side blinker blinked fast as if it was out. I saw it was out and replaced it. It still continued.... I tried unplugging and plugging hitch cover back in but still did this? I then noticed another bulb was out ( small bulb on driver side) I replaced that but still blinks fast? Is this because I bought a faulty hitch cover or is it a electrical issue? I never seen anything like it?

You may have to double check the wiring for that hitch

Agreed with Clinton. That or you have a short somewhere that keeps burning stuff out.

^X2 my daughters truck had the same problem. A wire going into the front turn signal socket was shorting out, you could wiggle it and it would go away until she drove it again.

Its possible the plug has a short. Probably tapped into that tail light

It's the front bulbs that have gone out though...

Electrical is weird, if it is pulling the power through the front before it reaches the back where it grounds and returns to battery it will burn out the front bulbs first, they are no different then a fuse really. The bulbs produce light through resistance, that causes the filament to glow, causing light, if they are overpowered with to much amperage they will burn out.

Lol how far into VA are you? I do play with electrical, I'm a diesel mechanic, maybe I'll have to swing up and take a look.

I'm in Chesapeake... Lol I changed the bulbs, that's about all I know about that.... appreciate the offer but I don't have funds to fix it right now. As long as it still works, which it's fine as long as I don't hook the cover up.
