Default 130 amp alternator.

I have a 1992 ford ranger v6 manual 4.0L and i was looking into getting a new alternator. i was thinking a 200amp alternator would be too much power. So i did some searching on ebay and came across this one.

I was wondering if anyone has ever used a set up like this or knows that its a good choice

Is that even the right alternator for the bolt pattern...? Thats the older style that uses just two bolts. Mine has one bolt at the top, two on the bottom.

Yours might be different since its a 92.

I used an alternator from a 7.3 diesel, those are 130 amp usually, some are more, some had dual alternators and I think those were 150amps.

lol, yeah check out one for the 7.3. Thats what I got on my plow truck for the added draw on the electrical system.

Here ya go, Go BIG or go HOME! lol hahah

The casing's are spun tho on these, It will still bolt up and work but the connection will be 60* the opposite. If that makes any sense. All you have to do is unbolt the case, spin it one spot and put it back together. Or you can just leave it, it will still work.

i got a 130 amp off an 00 explorer. $30 and it pretty much dropped in place on my 4.0

250amps is a dam lot. i assume you would have to get a hd battery for that.

how did the wiring work out for the 00 explorer one

----------

im going to buy a battery load tester to see whats going on because last night the needel was chilling at the end of the L on the normal. I dont know how many volts that is but to me it looked like it was a little high.
