Question 98xlt fog/driving lights

Hi all,

I want to install a set of fog/driving lights, but i would like to hook the wiring up into the parking lights wires (so the come on w/ one turn on headlight switch). I will put a fuse inbetween the 2 sets of lights. Hope I explained that right. I want to do this so it will elimanate a toggle/switch that i would have to install inside. Does anyone have pro's or con's abt this? Would anyone know what the "hot wire" would be?

I saw this while searching on the net.

I am skipping some parts of how he did it.

Thats pretty easy if you use a relay. go to a auto parts store and buy a relay. I buy the ones that have a tab on them with a whole where you can just screw them to the side wall so you dont have to worry about mounting issues.

Here is how to hook it up. (On the bottom of the relay you will see 5 connections each labeled with a number.)

* (30) - To the battery using an in-line fuse
* (85) - To a good ground
* (86) - Tap in to the running light hot wire. I usually use the blue splices.
* (87) - This is the power for your fogs
* (87A) - Not used

Pros: Dosent strain the factory wireing and does what you want it to.
Cons: I think some states require your fogs to go off when you put on high beams. If your state requires that this wont work for you as described and would need some alteration.
