Default Gas gauge

My gas gauge stoped working it some times goes up to the full mark after I fill up but soon goes back to e does anyone know what to do to fix it ? I pulled my cluster out and all the plugs behind it are all good could it be the sender in the tank ?

well it's either the sending unit or the gauge. from working on a lot of u-hauls i found that most of the time it's the gauge. a mult meter will help you find witch one it is.

could have a loose ground also, some are easy to find some are not good luck
