Default Blower motor died.

My ventilation blower motor only worked on the 2 highest speeds when i bought the truck about a month ago. Also have no control over temp, which i assume is the blend door problem, btu, seeing as it is winter and it's stuck on warm, i am gonna live with that issue for now.

Anyway, yesterday i get in the truck and i got no blower motor at any speed. Before it went, in addition to only running on the two top speeds, it seemed a bit weak and the motor sounded kind of sickly. By that i mean it sounded kind of like it was trying to blow through a restricted vent. there was decent enough airflow though.

Are there any ventilation system schematics for a 97 (with AC) on this board?

thanks.

well, i discovered why it sounded sickly proir to dieing.

today i pulled the motor in the lovely 20 degree weather we are having and discovered that mice had made a condo inside there. there was at least a fist full of what looks to be chewed up paper towels in there. cleaned it out, hooked up the blower motor to my battery charger to ensure it was good and now i am back in business, or back in a warm truck anyway.

still don't have the 2 low speeds, btu, i can live with that till it gets warm again. i suspect i will have to repair/replace the resistor pack or the fan switch.

could be a bad blower motor or a bad blower control module. my brothers grand prix had the same problem and it cost him about $150 to have it fixed. the wires on his blower control module were bad. they replaced the control module and the connectors
