Default Constant power??

I am wiring up a LED strip light under the lid of my toolbox for better visibility at night. I have everything ready to go except im not sure of the most convenient place to draw constant power from?

I would try the fuse box. Now don't hold me to that, but it might work.

Was hoping to find somewhere closer to tap into so i wouldnt have to run as much wire.....
Also it needs to have power when the key is off because i lock the toolbox and the key is on the same ring as the truck key.

I put in a tail/brake light and blinkers in my toolbox. Best place is to tap into the running light wire. I ran mine along the tono cover and drilled a hole right behind each light, tapped right into the the wire by the bulb.

Of coarse I have a tono cover to hide the wiring, but maybe you can run them under the bed rail on the inside...?

ahhh, yeah I guess I was thinking of like a red tail light strip. lol

What you need is like a hood pin switch from a remote start, then wire it with a fuse, or to the fuse box, this way when you open the lid it will power on and then off when closed.
